Natosha

My next piece is 18"x14". I call her Natosha. Inspired by Yasushi Suzuki. Look up "The Art Book of Yasushi Suzuki" It's totally worth it. So I have to say this is more of a fan art piece. I haven't figured out a color palet yet. I was thinking a more warm, unsaturated palet. I like the sketch. Sometimes the sketch looks so much better than the full flushed out version. I like the raw feeling and the sort of life sketches have. It's keeping that raw life like element that is sometimes lost durring clean up. In this case, black glitter pass. I'll post that when I have it done.

Pirate

This was a fun piece. A gift for Memory. She just got married. Again. It looks so much better in person. Glitter may be put down on a 2D plane. But needs to be viewed in a 3D space.

Blue Hood

My first commission piece. I'm mixing more and more. Learning to create a more textured look and feel.

Moon light

My most abstract piece. Moon through the trees. A gift for Kristin's birthday. Made in her favorite color GREEN

TRIO

With my new glitter I wanted to use a lot of COLOR! I have to say this looks so much more impressive in person. Not to brag. I had a lot of fun with this one. I love Cirque du Soleil. This is another form of FAN art.

"Green Racer"

I wanted to do something more Japanese. I don't know Japanese... well some. I don't know how to write in Japanese. I made up the characters you see on the signs. It's inspired from Japanese characters and Egyptian script or hieratic script. I made this for Elizabeth- if she still wants it.

Peasant Girl

This little piece is one of my Favorites. Sadly it belongs to my friend Myk. I made this for his birthday. I hope to give all my friends an original of mine so you all can be patient. This is the first time I used saturated colors. A suggestion he made. I started ordering my glitter on line now, so now i have a lot more colors. This is the first time i used Ultra Fine Glitter. The effect creates a sort of Satin look.

"Caesarion"

My 4th piece. I wanted to explore how detailed I could get with the material. My interest in Egypt led me to create "Little Pharaoh" I was thinking of Caesarion, Cleopatra's son of Caesar. He has Roman chest armor and a Trogan horse for a toy.

"Little Patch Girl"

Here is my 3rd glitter piece. I got a hold of a new color BLUE! or Pi chock blue. I mixed this with my orange, black, and gold glitter left over from the last pieces. Joe calls her "Miss Bucket" I actually had no background in mind when i started this. I was basically using the leftover mixes of glitter across the back. Turned out to make a nice illusion of depth.

"Misinterpretation of Lauryn Hill"

Glitter on Masonite board. Orange, Gold, Black glitter.
I call this one "Misinterpretation of Lauryn Hill" I'm a fan!
I had her solo album when it first came out and loved it!

"Inspire" Benefit Auction

So... I thought it might be nice to have a real blog. A professional like space for my own art work.

I was inspired a while back by Bill Presing's character art, and Rene Garcia Jr.'s Glitter Paintings. I wanted to combine the two to make a Glitter character. My first piece was donated to Maverix Studios Benefit Auction. (image above) At the time there was a limited amount of glitter available at the craft store. I made due with 3 colors. Gold, orange, and black. I found that Mixing the glitter actually made a more interesting effect.

Ever since then I've been trying top the last piece by doing more and MORE GLITTER!!!
